Active Ingredients: Fluticasone

Therapeutic actions: The active ingredient of Flixonase is Fluticasone. Fluticasone belongs to group of medications called corticosteroids. Corticosteroids are hormones that are naturally produced by the adrenal glands and play an important role in regulating the inflammatory and allergy responses.

Flixonase nasal spray works by decreasing the inflammation of the nasal passages. Flixonase does this by inhibiting the release of chemicals that trigger allergic or inflammatory reaction. The inflammation of the nasal results in hayfever, blocked or itchy nose, sinus discomfort and sneezing. Flixonase reliefs these symtoms thus improves nasal breathing.

Indications: Flixonase is used to treat allergic rhinitis(pet allergy, dust mite allergy, hayfever)

Contraindications and cautions:
You should not use this medication in the following conditions:

  • Nasal or sinus infection
  • Ulceration in the nose
  • Recent surgery or injury to the nose;
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding
  • If you are under 18 years of age
  • Allergy to fluticasone or other corticosteroids

Warning!

  • Flixonase is intended to use in the nose. Do not take Flixonase by mouth.
  • Avoid prolonged use of Flixonase nasal spray. Do not take nasal spray for more than 3 month. The prolonged may cause glaucoma, osteoporosis , decreasing function of the adrenal glands.
