Active Ingredients:
Azelastin
Therapeutic actions: Azelastin is an histamine H1 blocker. By blocking this histamine the allergic reaction is also blocked - runny nose, sneezing.
Indications: Treatment of allergic rhinitis.
Contraindications and cautions: It is unclear whether Azelastin or Astelin is safe to use in pregnancy, thus it should be avoided by pregnant women.
Adverse effects: The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine. Because a side effect is stated here, it does not mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect.
Azelastins side effects include drowsiness and a bitter taste. Nasal soreness, nose bleeds, sore throat, and dry mouth have been reported, however it is not clear whether these side effects are caused solely by the drug or by the method of application.

Interactions: Tell your doctor or pharmacist what medicines you are already taking, including those bought without a prescription and herbal medicines, before you start treatment with this medicine.
Because Azelastin can cause drowsiness, any other drug that also causes drowsiness should be avoided - including alcohol.
