Cetirinax
Drug name: Cetirinax
Active Ingredients:
- Cetirizine hydrochloride
Therapeutic actions: Cetirizine is selective blocker of histamine receptors. By blocking H1 histamine receptors Cetirizine impairs the effects of histamine to the blood vessels(capillaries dilating, increasing the permeability of the capillaries' walls), decreases hyperemia and edema. Cetirizine successfully retards the development of skin reactions to histamine, specific allergens and cooling. Cetirizine also suppresses the activity of platelet-activating factor and P substance that induce the histamine secretion.Maximal effect of Cetirizine occurs in 1 hours. The therapeutic effect lasts 24 hours.
Indications: Cetirizine is used to treat the following conditions:
- Seasonal and all year round allergic rhinitis
- Pollen disease
- Allergic conjunctivitis
- Chronic idiopathic hives
- Angioedema
- Complex treatment of atopic dermatitis, chronic eczema, bronchial allergy
Contraindications and cautions:
Do not take Cetirizine if you experience the following conditions:
- Hypersensitivity to Cetirizine
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Kidney failure
- Liver failure
- In children
- Lactose intolerance

- Avoid prolonged use of this medication.
- Use Cetirizine with caution in elderly age.

- CNS: drowsiness, tiredness, headache, dizziness
- Digestive system: dry mouth, nausea
