Therapeutic actions: Nitrofural also known as nitrofurazone, is an Antimicrobial drug, mechanism of action is different from other chemotheraputic means: microbial flavoproteins, restore 5- nitro group, forming highly-reactive amino derivatives, capable of producing conformational changes in the protein structures and other macromolecules, leading to cell death. Furacilin is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococci of spp., Streptococcus of spp., Shigella of dysenteria of spp., Shigella of flexneri of spp., Shigella of boydii of spp., Shigella of sonnei of spp., Escherichia of coli, Clostridium of perfringens, Salmonella of spp. and other). Stability is developed slowly and it does not reach high degree. It increases activity RES, strengthens phagocytosis.
Indications: External use only: purulent wounds, bedsores, burns II- III st., blepharitis, conjunctivitis, the furuncle of external auditory passage; osteomyelitis, empyema of perirhinal cavities, pleura (washing cavities); acute external and average otitis, angina, stomatitis, gingivitis; the minor damages of the skin (abrasion, scratch, crack, cuts).
Contraindications and cautions: Hypersensitivity, hemorrhage, allergic dermatoses.
Adverse effects: Allergic reactions. During the external application - dermatitis
Interactions: There are no described interactions must not be used with other external antimicrobial drugs.
