  • Metronidazole

Therapeutic actions: Metrozol belongs to a group of medication called antiprotozoa. Metrozol also possesses antibacterial activity. Metronidazol kills protozoa and bacteria through the the inhibiting the production nucleic acids that are responsible for the growth and replication of the microorganisms. Metrozol is effective against richomonas vaginalis, Giardia intestinalis, Entamoeba histolytica, Lamblia intestinalis, Balantidium coli, Blastocystis hominis, Helicobacter pylori, Bacteroides spp. (Bacteroides fragilis, Bacteroides ovatus, Bacteroides distasonis, Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, Bacteroides vulgatus), Fusobacterium spp.,Clostridium spp., Peptostreptococcus spp., Peptococcuc spp, Gardnerella vaginalis.

Indications: Metrozol is indicated in the following conditions:

  • Nonspecific vaginitis
  • Bacterial vaginosis
  • Vaginitis caused by Trichomonas vaginalis and other microorganisms

Contraindications and cautions: Metrozol should not be taken in:

  • Known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the medication ingredients
  • Blood diseases
  • Liver failure
  • Leukopenia(including in anamnesis)
  • CNS disorders
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding

Try to avoid sexual intercourse while the treatment with metronidazol. Your sexual partner should also receive treatment independently if he experiences any symptoms.

Metronidazole adverse effects: There are possible side effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Metronidazole will experience it or any other.
