Active Ingredients:
- Sparfloxacin
Therapeutic actions: Sparfloxacin is an antibacterial medication of the fluoroquinolones group. Therapeutic effect is associated with inhibiting DNA-gyrase. DNA-gyrase is a ferment responsible for the replication of bacterial DNA(genetic material). Sparfloxacin is a difluoroquinolone being more effective against staphylococci, pneumococci, chlamydia and mycoplasms.
Indications: Infections of the respiratory tract:
- Pneumonia
- Aggravation of the chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases
- Otitis
- Sinusitis
Sexually transmitted diseases:
- Gonorrhea
- Chlamydiosis
Gastrointestinal infections:
- Infections caused by shigella and solmonella
Kidney and urinary tract infections:
- urethritis
- cystitis
- pyelitis
Infections of the skin and soft tissue:
- wounds
- abscess
- pyoderma
- furuculosis
- infectious dermatitis
Contraindications and cautions: Sparfloxacin should not be used if any of the following conditions apply to you:
- Known hypersensitivity or allergy to sparfloxacin or other fluoroquinolones
- Known photosensibility to fluoroquinolones
- Insufficiency of G6PD
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- People under 18 years of age
Stop taking Sparfloxacin if you experience first sings of tendor tear.

- Antacids lower the absorption of Sparfloxacin into the blood
- Sparfloxacin increases the blood level of digoxin
- Cisapride hastens the absorption of sparfloxacin
- Sparfloxacin should not be used in conjunction with terfenadine, astemizole, erythromycin, anti-arrhythmic medications type Ia and III)
