Drug name: Azatril
Active Ingredients:
- Azithromycin
Therapeutic actions: Azatril active ingredient is Azithromycin which belongs to a class of called macrolides. It exerts bacteriostatic effect by binding with 50S ribosomes, inhibits the synthesis of proteins thus decreasing the rate of development and multiplication of the bacteria. In elevated concentration the may also exert bactericidal effect.
Indications: Azithromycin or Azatril is used in treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria. The is used in treatment of:
- Skin infections
- Respiratory infections
- ENT infections
- Sexual transmitted infections
- In children can also be used for treatment of pneumonia.
Contraindications and cautions: The drug should be used after a consultation with your health care provider in the following cases:
- Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation.
- Liver impairment
- Kidney dysfunction
- Heart problems of different origin
Azithromycin is in pregnancy category B meaning that it is not supposed to harm an unborn baby. But please consult your doctor on using Azithromycin if you are pregnant plan to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
