Therapeutic actions:
Azilide is an antibacterial agent that possesses bacteriostatic effect. Action mechanism of the medication is associated with the suppression of the protein synthesis in the bacterial cells. Azithromycin works by binding to 50S subunits of the ribosomes affecting the process of translation. This inhibits the synthesis of the proteins. Without proteins bacteria are not able to reproduce themselves and then die.Indications:
- Upper respiratory tract and ENT infections caused by sensible agents such as: pharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis, sinusitis, otitis media; scarlatina;
- Lower respiratory tract and soft tissues: rosacea, impetigo, secondary infected dermatosis;
- Infections of the skin
- Urinary tract infections: gonorrheal and nongonorrheal urethritis, cervicitis;
- Lyme disease, gastric ulcer and duodena associated with Helicobacter pylori.
Contraindications and cautions:
- Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations.
- Liver and kidney insufficiency
The medication should be taken with caution: pregnancy, arrhythmia, in children with expressed liver and kidney failure, infant, breastfeeding.
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using azithromycin will experience it or any other.
- Digestive system: diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, cholestatic jaundice.

- In children: headache, hyperkinesia, anxiety, neurosis, sleep disturbances.
- Urogenital system: vaginal candidiasis, nephritis.
- Allergic reactions: rash, urticaria, skin itching, angioedema.
- Others: asthenia, photosensibilazion.
- In children: conjunctivitis,flavor reversion.
