Bactox
Drug name: Bactox
Active Ingredients:
- Amoxicillin
Therapeutic actions: Bactox belongs to a group of drugs called penicillins. It exerts bactericidal effect and has a broad spectrum of action. It interferes with peptidoglycane synthesis during the period of development and multiplication of bacterial cell, resulting in cell lysis. Strains that produce penicillinase are resistant to amoxicillin effect.
Indications: Bactox is used in treatment of different infections:
- Ear infections
- Urogenital infections
- Respiratory system infections
- Salmonella and E.coli infestations.
The suspension is used in children for the same indications as adults. Consult your doctor for dosages and possible other conditions that may be treated by Bactox in children.
Contraindications and cautions: The drug should not be used in the following conditions:
- Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation or to other penicillin antibiotics or cephalosporins.
Be careful in suing Bactox if you have such conditions as:
- Bronchial asthma
- Liver impairment
- Kidney dysfunction
- Blood clotting disorders like hemophilia
- Mononucleosis
- Dysbacteriosis or a history of diarrhea of unknown origin.
If any of the above apply to you be sure to consult your doctor on the safety of using Bactox. The drug is in FDA pregnancy category B. This means that you should still consult your doctor if your are planning to become pregnant are pregnant or are breastfeeding and plan to take Bactox as your treatment.

- Thrush
