Drug name: Cefamed
Active Ingredients:
- Ceftriaxone
Indications: Cefamed is used to treat infectious diseases caused by susceptible to ceftriaxone bacteria:
- Sepsis
- Meningitis
- Abdominal infections(peritonitis, of the gastrointestinal tract and bile-excreting ducts)
- Infections of the skin, bones, joints, conjunctive tissue
- Infections in people with decreased function of the immune system
- Kidney and urinary tract infections
- Airways inflammation caused by bacteria(pneumonia , ENT diseases)
- Infections of the genitals(gonorrhea)
Contraindications and cautions: Do not take Ceftriaxone if you experience any of the following conditions:
- reaction to ceftriaxone or to other b-lactam antibiotics
- Digestive system disorders: malnutrition and colitis
- Liver dysfunction
- Kidney disease
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Ceftriaxone is intended to treat infections caused by bacteria, however, it is useless in viral infections.
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Ceftriaxone will experience it or any other.
- Painful sensation in the place of injection
- CNS: headache, sweating, flushing, vertigo
- Digestive system: indigestion, bloody stool and severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, heartburn
- Allergic reactions: skin rash. In rare cases anaphylactic shock can occur.
- Fever
