Claricin
Drug name: Claricin
Active Ingredients:
- Clarithromycin
Therapeutic actions: Clarithromycin or Claricin is a broad spectrum antibiotic belonging to a group called macrolides. It works by binding with 50S ribosomes of a bacterial cell thus resulting in inhibition of protein synthesis which in turn leads to bacterial cell death.
Indications: Clarithromycin is used in treatment of susceptible microorganisms:
- Infections of upper respiratory tract
- Infections of lower respiratory tract
- Infections of skin and soft tissues
- Middle otitis
- Stomach and duodenal ulcer
- Chlamidiosis
- Micobacteriosis
Contraindications and cautions: The should not be used if you have ever experienced hypersensitivitiy to it or any of its components or to other macrolide antibiotics. If you have renal or liver insufficiency please consult your doctor before using Calricid. Do not use Clarithromycin in children younger then 6 months. All the possible contradictions related to pregnancy or breastfeeding should be consulted with your doctor.
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Claricin will experience it or any other. The common side-effects include:
- Abdominal problems: nausea, diarrhea, heartburn, pain
- Headaches, abnormal taste
