Active Ingredients:
- Levofloxacin
Therapeutic actions: Loxof and its active ingredient Levofloxacin belongs to a class of called fluoroquinolones. It works by inhibiting the reparation, translation and replication of DNA in the bacterial cells thus leading to cell death an inability to develop and multiply.
Indications: Loxof is indicated in treatment of different types of susceptible infections:
- Respiratory tract infections
- Infections of skin and soft tissue
- Infection of the urogenital tract
Contraindications and cautions: Before starting treatment with levofloxacin be sure to tell your doctor if:
- You have an reaction to other fluoroquinolones or other antibiotics
- You have epilepsy, renal or liver disease, colitis, stomach disease, vision or heart problems.
- You are pregnant or are breastfeeding
- You plan on going on a vacation where you will be exposed to sunlight
- You are suffering from and are taking insulin
- You are driving a car or operating machinery
