Drug name: Nitroxoline Therapeutic actions: Nitroxoline belongs to 8-hydroxyquinoline antibacterial medication. Nitroxoline works by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial DNA(genetic material). Nitroxoline binds to metallic enzymes of the bacterial cell resulting in inactivation of their function. Bacteria are not able to produce DNA without these enzymes and then die.
