Active Ingredients:

  • Josamycin

Therapeutic actions: Wilprafen belongs to a group of antibiotics called macrolides. The active ingridient of Wilprafen – Josamycin exerts bactericidal activity. It works by binding with the 50S subunit of the ribosomes and inhibits fixation of transport RNA thus blocking the synthesis of proteins. The drug exhibits a broad-spectrum of action and does not induce bacterial resistance.

Indications: The antibiotic is used in the cases when susceptible bacteria is affected like:

  • Inflammation of bacterial origin,
  • Otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, diphteritis and etc.
  • Urogenital infections
  • Trauma infections

Contraindications and cautions: Do not use Wilprafen in these cases:

  • Known hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation
  • Liver insufficiency
  • Young age

Patients with diabetes should know that the preparation is made with 3.25g of dextrose which may alter their sugar level. Consult your doctor on possible contradictions during pregnancy and lactation period.
