Drug name: Miconazol Hexal

Active Ingredients:

• Miconazole nitrate

Therapeutic actions: Miconazole nitrate belongs to antimycotic medications. Miconazole works by inhibiting the production of ergosterol that is essential component of the fungi cell membrane. As a result, the fungi cell wall becomes unstable and the contents of cells can leak out. This is ultimately fatal for the fungi cells. Miconazole is effective against dermatophytes Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum canis, yeast fungi(Candida albicans) and other pathogenic fungi( Malassezia furfur, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium crustaceum)
Miconazole cream also exerts bactericidal and anti exudative action.

Indications: Miconazole cream is used to treat the following conditions:

• Mycosis of the skin, foot, skin folds caused by fungi(athlete's foot, jock itch)
• Skin infection caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum
• Candidosis
• Scaly skin disease
• Erythrasma
• Mixed bacterial and fungi infections of the skin and nails
• Ringworm of nails

Contraindications and cautions:
You should not use Miconazole cream if any of the following conditions apply to you:

• Known hypersensitivity to Miconazole
• Pregnancy
• Breastfeeding
• Children under 12 years of age
• Wash and dry the skin thoroughly before applying Miconazole cream.
• Miconazole is for external use only.
