Active Ingredients:
natamycin
Therapeutic actions: Natamycin is a substance produced by the bacterium Streptomyces natalensis .
It is naturally occurring and prevents growth of yeasts and moulds, especially Candida albicans. Natamycin binds to ergosterol, a building block in cell walls of yeasts and moulds. The natamycin that binds to the ergosterol causes leakage of the cell wall, leading to cell death. Bacteria do not contain ergosterol and are therefore not affected.
Indications: Pimafucin is used to treat:
- acute pseudo-membranous and acute atrophic candidiasis in patients with cachexia, immune insufficiency, and also after the therapy by antibiotics, by corticosteroids, by cytostatics.
- otomycoses, external otites, either primarily caused by fungi or which were complicated by candidiasis;
- candidiasis of the skin and nails;
- candidiasis of bowels;
- vaginitis, vulvitis, vulvovaginitis, caused mainly by the fungi of Candida;
- dermatomycosis.
- balanoposthitis
Contraindications and cautions: You should not use this medication if you hypersensitivity to natamycin
Warning! Ethanol, which is in composition of vaginal suppositories, can cause the reactions of the increased sensitivity. During the menstruation you should interrupt using vaginal suppositories. In the period of treatment by suppositories there is no need for the exception of sexual contacts. However it is recommended to use contraceptives.

- itching( during usage of cream of vaginal suppositories )
