Active Ingredients:
Ketoconazole
Therapeutic actions: Nizoral has an active ingredient ketoconazole. Nizoral is a type of drug called an antifungal. It works by interfering with yeasts and fungi cell membranes. Nizoral stops the fungi from producing a substance called ergosterol. Ergosterol is an essential component of fungal cell membranes. The decreased production of ergosterol causes holes to appear in cell membrane of fungi and this kills them .
Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo helps to block the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It is considered that dihydrotestosterone has a role in the hair follicle dying and falling out
Nizoral also works by removing sebum deposits. Sebum deposits can not be removed with normal scalp cleansing techniques.
Indications:
Nizoral shampoo is used to treat:
- Dandruff.
- Extensive falling of hair.
- Skin inflommation with red, greasy and scaly areas , such condition as seborrhoeic dermatitis.
- Fungal skin condition called pityriasis versicolor.
Contraindications and cautions:
You should not use Nizoral shampoo if you have an allergy to ketoconazole

- You should avoid getting the Nizoral shampoo in the eyes. If shampoo enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
