Active Ingredients:

  • Fenoterol hydrobromide

Therapeutic actions: Fenoterol hydrobromide belongs to a group of medications called beta2-adrenomimetics.

Fenoterol hydrobromide exerts a direct sympathomimetic action. In therapeutic doses Fenoterol selectively stimulates beta-2- adrenoreceptors of the bronchi. In high dosages it can stimulate beta1-adrenoreceptors. Fenoterol relaxes the smooth muscle of the bronchi and vessels, prevents the development of bronchoconstrictive reactions caused by histamine, methacholine, allergens. Right after administration Fenoterol blocks the release of bronchoconstrictive inflammatory mediators from the mast cells.

Fenoterol may increase heart rate, enhance myocardial contractility due to acting on β2-adrenoreceptors in the heart.

Feneterol prevents and quickly arrest bronchial asthma attack. The beginning of therapeutic affect occurs in 5 times and lasts 3-5 hours.

Indications: Berotec is indicated in the following conditions:

  • Relief of asthma attack
  • Prophylaxis of asthma attacks while physical trainings
  • Symptomatic treatment of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive bronchitis

Contraindications and cautions: Berotec should not be used if any if the following conditions:

  • Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy
  • Tachyarrhythmia

Individual intolerance to fenoterol

  • Pregnancy(1 tremester)
  • Children under 4 years of age

Berotec should be used with caution in the following conditions:

  • Diabetes
  • Recent heart attack
  • Severe cardiovascular diseases
  • Uncontrolled hypertension
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Pheochromocytoma
  • Breastfeeding
