Bromhexin-Darnita
Drug name: Bromhexin-Darnitsa
Active Ingredients:
- Bromhexine
Therapeutic actions: Bromhexine belongs to a group of drugs called mucolytic agents and exerts expectorant and weak antitussive effect. The drug works by decreasing the viscosity of phlegm, activates ciliated epithelium, increases the volume and improves discharge of phlegm. Stimulates the production of endogenous surfactant, provides stable function of alveoli cells in the process of breathing. The effect is expressed in 2-5 days after the treatment starts.
Indications: The drug is indicated in treatment of :
- Pulmonary tract disease
- Tracheobronchitis
- Bronchitis with developed etiology
- Bronchial asthma
- Pulmonary tuberculosis
- Pneumonia
- Mucoviscidosis
- Prophylaxis in treatment of consistent phlegm formation
Contraindications and cautions: The drug must not be used in the following conditions:
- Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation
- Peptic ulcer
- Pregnancy especially I trimester
- Lactation period
- Young age less then 6 years old
Should be used with caution in:
- Renal or liver disease
- Specific pulmonary disease
- Acute gastrointestinal bleeding
The patient should receive appropriate amounts of fluid to increase expectorating effect.
