Drug name: Efitusin
Active Ingredients:
- Licorice syrup
Therapeutic actions: Licorice syrup has anti-expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect.
Indications: Efitusin is used in treatment of inflammatory disease of the respiratory tract as an anti-expectorant which eases the discharge of expectoration.
Contraindications and cautions: The preparation should not be used in the following cases:
- Individual hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation
- Gastritis
- Stomach ulcer
- Duodenal ulcer in acute phase
Be careful when using the preparation in the following cases: During pregnancy and lactation period the preparation should be used with caution and only under strict supervision of a doctor. Patients with bronchial asthma should be monitored carefully when using Efitusin.
Special precautions should be taken by patients with diabetes due to presence of sugar as an inactive ingredient in the preparation.
