Drug name: Flavamed
Active Ingredients:
- Ambroxol
Therapeutic actions: Flavamed contains the active ingredient ambroxol. Ambroxol exerts mucolytic and secretory action. Ambroxol lowers the viscosity of bronchial secret and stimulates the activity of epithelium, contributing to phlegm removing. Ambroxol increases the production and secretion of surfactant; improves the permeability of bronchial vascular barrier. Therapeutic effect of Flavamed occurs in 30 minutes and lasts 6-12 hours depending on the adminesterd dose.
Indications: Flavamed is indicated to treat the following conditions: Acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs manifested in disorders of the mucous production and discharge.
Contraindications and cautions:Flavamed should not be taken:
- in known hypersensitivity and allergy to any of the medication active ingredients.
- in pregnancy (I term)
- in phenylketonuria
- in lactation
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Flavamed will experience it or any other.
- Allergic reactions: skin rash, hives, Quinke's edema, sometimes - allergic contact dermatitis, anaphylactic shock.
- Rare - weakness, headache, diarrhea, dry mouth and respiratory tract, exanthema, rhino-Rhea, bolts, dysuria.
- During prolonged application at high doses - gastralgia, nausea, vomiting.
- With rapid intra-venal introduction - feeling of torpor, adynamia, intensive headaches, a decrease AP, shortness of breath,fever, chill.
