Drug name: Roglit
Active Ingredients:
Rosiglitazone
Therapeutic actions: Roglit, is an antihyperglycemic agent that aides the body respond better to insulin. It reduces the amount of sugar produced by the liver, thus controlling sugar blood levels.
Indications: Roglit is used for treatment of type 2 Diabetes mellitus(or non-insulin-dependent diabetes).
Contraindications and cautions: Before taking Roglit discuss the possible side effects and contradictions with your local health care provider due to a need for certain persons to undergo special monitoring or dosage adjustments if any of this following conditions have ever taken place in their life:
- Liver dysfunction
- History of hear disease or heart failure
- Swelling or water Edema
- Insulin-dependent diabetes
- Severe injury, infection or illness of other sort
- Possible surgery
Roglit is in pregnancy category C so before it's use you should consult your health care provider for him to explain you all the risks which are possible due to the use of this drug during pregnancy. It is not known if Roglit passes into breast milk.
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Roglit will experience it or any other.
If any of the following conditions occur, stop usage of Roglit immediately and contact your doctor:
- Allergy: swelling, difficulty breathing, closing of throat.
- Dark urine
- Stomach problems like: vomiting, pain, loss of appetite, nausea.
- Fatigue
- Yellow eyes or skin
Less serious side-effects include:
- Headache
- Nasal discharge
- Cold symptoms
- Sore throat

Especially tell your doctor if you are taking insulin or nitrates such as Isordril, Sorbitrate, Imdur, ISMO, or Nitro-BID, Nitro-Dur, Nitroquick, Nitrostat. Roglit also may alter the actions of contraceptive means so discuss with your health care provider the possibilities and risks before using the medicine.
Additional Information: DO NOT SHARE Roglit with others. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS PRODUCT, as well as syringes and needles, if needed during treatment, out of the reach of children. Do not reuse needles, syringes, or other materials.
