Active Ingredients: Ciprofloxacin/Dexamethasone

Therapeutic actions: Ciprofloxacin/Dexamethasone is a quinolone antibiotic and corticosteroid combination. It works by killing bacteria by stopping the production of essential proteins needed by the bacteria to survive. It also reduces inflammation (redness, swelling, itching).

Indications: Treating ear and eye infections caused by certain bacteria.

Contraindications and cautions: Do NOT use Ciprofloxacin/Dexamethasone if:

• you are allergic to any ingredient in Ciprofloxacin/Dexamethasone or any other fluoroquinolone (eg, levofloxacin) or corticosteroid (eg, prednisone)
• you have a viral infection of the outer ear, including herpes, or a perforated ear drum Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Some medical conditions may interact with Ciprofloxacin/Dexamethasone . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

• if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
• if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
• if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

Discomfort, pain, or itching in the ear.

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); decreased hearing.

Due to the fact that little, if any, of Ciprofloxacin/Dexamethasone is absorbed into the blood, the risk of it interacting with another medicine is low.
