Active Ingredients: sodium cromoglycate

Therapeutic actions: Lecrolyn ophthalmic solution is indicated for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. A decade of experience of the use sodium cromoglycate in the treatment of red and itching eyes confirms its position among the allergy medications available. Lecrolyn is a very well-tolerated and effective medication which has a pleasant lubricating effect in the irritated eye.

Indications: Lecrolyn ophthalmic solution is used in the eye to treat certain disorders of the eye caused by allergies.

Contraindications and cautions: Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to Lecrolyn. Also tell your health care professional if you are allergic to any other substances, such as foods, preservatives, or dyes.

Adverse effects: The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine. Because a side effect is stated here, it does not mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare
Rash or redness around the eyes; swelling of the membrane covering the white part of the eye, redness of the white part of the eye, stays, or other eye irritation not present before therapy.

Other side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, check with your doctor if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome:

More common
Burning or stinging of eye (mild and temporary).

Less common or rare
Dryness or puffiness around the eye; watering or itching of eye (increased).
