Plavogrel
Drug name: Plavogrel
Other names used:
- Plavix®
Active Ingredients:
- clopidogrel
Therapeutic actions: Plavogrel is an inhibitor of thrombocyte aggregation. It works by selectively inhibiting the binding of ADP to thrombocyte receptors and activating of GPIIb/IIIa complex, thus suppressing thrombocyte aggregation. The drug does not affect the activity of phosphodiesterase. Clopidogrel's effect is not irreversible thus the affected thrombocytes become dysfunctional. The restoration of normal thrombocyte function thus takes 7 days after the use of the drug.
