- Sotalex®
Active Ingredients:
- Sotalol
Therapeutic actions: Sotagamma belongs to a class of drugs called class III antiarrhythmic agents. The drug works by blocking the potassium ion channels in the heart and also exerts affinity to β- adrenergic receptors thus having certain properties of beta-blockers. By blocking the potasium channels repolarization of the heart muscle is prolonged thus increasing the QT interval and slowing the automaticity and the blocking of β-adrenergic receptors leads to decreased AV conduction.
Indications: The drug is indicated in the following conditions:
- Ventricular arrhythmia
- Fibrillations
- Refracteric forms
- Tachycardia
- AV tachycardia in anomalies of the conducting system
- Supraventricular arrhythmia
- Tachycardia during thyreotoxicosis
