Drug name: Tinctura Valeriana

Active Ingredients: Valerianna officinalis

Therapeutic actions: Valerian is a good cerebral and spinal stimulant. It also stimulates the gastro-intestinal secretions and favors digestion, unless given in too large doses or too long continued. It is one of the best of calmatives for that collective condition termed "nervousness". To act well it should be given when the brain circulation is feeble and there is mental depression and despondency. With such symptoms it proves useful in hysteria and hypochondria, nervous headache, and hemicrania.

Indications: Alarmness, sleeping disorders caused by over excitation; migraine, light functional disorders of the cardio-vascular system and gastro-intestinal tract( in combination with other drugs)

Contraindications and cautions: Do not use before driving or operating machinery. Valeriana exponentiates effect of other tranquilizing and sedative agents.
