Active Ingredients:
Valeriana officinalis
Therapeutic actions: Valerianic acid and valepotriates have spasmolytic effect. Coimplex of biologically active ingredients of Valeriana slow down heart rhythm and widen coronary vessels. Medication provides a wide-range of effects on your organism, suppresses central nerve system, lowers it's excitability, facilitates approach of natural sleep. Sedative effect of Valeriana is very stable. Valeriana tablets also posses choleretic effects, amplifies secretory activity of gastro-intestinal tract.
Therapeutical effect of the medication can only be observed during systematic and long-term treatment.
Indications: Valerian may be of benefit for the following conditions:
- Nervous system disorders: Insomnia, nervous tension, anxiety, over-excitability, hysteria, migraine, epilepsy;
- Musculoskeletal disorders: Muscle tension, muscle spasms;
- Digestive dysfunction: Intestinal colic, hyperacidity related to tension, dyspepsia associated with stomach spasms.
Contraindications and cautions:
While Valerian is not synergistic with alcohol, it is best to be cautious in this regard. It is advised never to combine alcohol with sedatives. Valerian has a long history of exceptional safety, which has been confirmed by clinical studies. Consuming large amounts of Valerian however, may cause headaches, giddiness, blurred vision and nausea.
