Drug name: Bisogamma

Active Ingredients:

  • bisoprolol

Therapeutic actions: Bisogamma contains the active ingredient bisoprolol that belongs to antihypertensive medications called selective beta-blockers. Bisoprolol selectively acts on beta 1-adrenoreceptors and does not possesses sympathomimetic activity and membrane stabilizing properties.

By blocking beta 1-adrenoreceptors, bisoprolol lowers heart force and heart rate, slows down atrioventricular conduction and reduces the release of renin by the kidney. Bisoprol also decreases the tonicity of the smooth muscles.

Indications: Bisoprolol is indicated in the following cardiovascular conditions:

  • High blood pressure(Hypertension)
  • Prophylaxis of angina attacks

Contraindications and cautions: Bisoprolol is contraindicated in the following conditions:

  • Increased sensitivity or allergy to bisoprolol or other beta-blockers
  • Heart failure
  • Cardiogenic shock
  • Atrioventricular block(II and III type)
  • Sick sinus syndrome
  • Sinoatrial block
  • Bradycardia
  • Arterial hypotension
  • Metabolic acidosis
  • Addiction to bronchospasm
  • Disorders of the peripheral circulation
  • Prinzmetal's angina
  • Children under 18 years of age
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding

  • Bisogamma should not be used with MAO inhibitors
  • Biogamma can effect the activity of insulin and other oral anti-diabetes medications
  • Rifampicin lowers Bisogamma blood level
  • Anesthetic drugs may enhance the effects of Bisogamma
