Active Ingredients:
- Ramipril
Therapeutic actions: Ramipril belongs to a group of drugs called ACE inhibitor which works by inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I and angiotensin II resulting in a hypotensive effect which does not affect the cardiac rate. The preparation also exerts the following effects:
- Decreases the production of aldosterone
- Decreases the frequency of arrhythmia appearance in certain cases
- Exerts cardioprotective properties
- Increases coronary and renal blood flow
- Decreases thrombocyte aggregation
Indications: The preparation is indicated in treatment of:
- Arterial hypertension
- Malignant and refractory hypertension
- Vasorenal hypertension
- Chronic heart failure II and III degree
- Diabetic nephropathy
- Nephropathy in chronic diffusive renal disease
Contraindications and cautions: The drug should not be used in treatment of:
- Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparations
- Angioneurotic edema
- Renal artery stenosis
- Conditions after renal transplantation
- Aorta or Mitral stenosis
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
The drug should be used with caution in:
- Severe coronary or cerebral artery dysfunction
- Unstable angina
- Severe ventricular arrhythmia
- Terminal phase of heart failure
- Liver and renal failure
- Severe diarrhea or vomiting
- Elderly age
- Young people before 18 years of age
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Ramigamma will experience it or any other. The side-effects include:
- Cardiovascular system: hypotension, orthostatic collapse, tachycardia, arrhythmia, angina, myocardial infraction
- Urogenital system: development of chronic liver failure, proteinuria, decreased libido and potency.
- CNS: cerebral ischemia, insult, dizziness, headache, weakness, somnolence, paresthesia, insomnia, anxiety, depression, confusion.
- Sensory organs: vestibular disorders, change of taste, smell, hearing and vision, ear ringing
- Gastrointestinal tract: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, intestinal block, pancreatitis, hepatitis, jaundice, liver dysfunction, abdominal pain, dry mouth, thirst, decreased appetite, stomatitis, glossitis.
- Respirator system: dry coughing, bronchospasm, dyspnea, rhinorrhea
- Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, hives, photosensitivity, angioneurotic swelling of the face , extremities, larynx, exfoliative dermatitis, multiform erythema, toxic epidermal necrolysis and etc.
- Haemopoietic organs: anemia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, hemolytic anemia.
- Other: seizures, alopecia, hyperthermia
