Drug name: Contractubex

Active Ingredients: onion's extract + heparin + allantoin

Therapeutic actions:

• Cepae extract is obtained from onions. It generates an anti-inflammatory, bactericidal effect. And it reduces swelling while preventing excessive growth of the connective tissue.
• Heparin loosens the tissue structure. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and helps to bind water to the scar tissue.
• Allantoin encourages wound healing and has a soothing effect. In older scars its most important effect is to replenish and regulate the extreme lack of water in the scar tissue - and to promote blood flow.

The effects of the ingredients enhance and complement each other.

Indications:
DERMATOLOGY

• Scars from burns and scalds.
• Acne and shingles (chicken pox) scars.
• Scars following ulceration and acid burns.
• Vaccination scars.
• Keloids.

SURGERY

• Accidents and post-operative scars.
• Scars resulting from plastic surgery, skin grafts.
• Amputation scars.

GYNAECOLOGY

• Scars following caesarean section, radical hysterectomy,hypogastric incision associated with a tendency towards bulbous scar formation.
• Biopsy & Breast amputation scars.

ORTHOPEDIC

• Dupuytren's contracture.
• Post-amputation scars.

Contraindications and cautions:

• Do not use Contractubex gel if you have ever had an allergic reaction to onion's extract , heparin , allantoin (the active ingredients) or to any of the other ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet. Some of the symptoms of an allergic reaction to a medicine may include shortness of breath, wheezing or difficulty breathing; swelling of the face, lips, tongue or other parts of the body; rash, itching or hives on the skin.
• Do not use Contractubex gel if you are having light therapy (called phototherapy) for your skin condition.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the pack or if the packaging is torn or shows signs of tampering.

Warning!

• Avoid sunlight and sun lamps, tanning beds, and treatments with UVA or UVB light. If you need to be outdoors after applying Contractubex, wear loose clothing that protects the treated area from the sun.
• Do not cover the area being treated with bandages, dressings, or wraps. However, normal clothing can be worn over the treated areas.

This medication may cause dry skin, burning, stinging or redness when first applied to the skin
