Drug name: Activated Charcoal
Therapeutic actions: Activated Charcoal has an absorbent, detoxifying, and anti-diarrhea effect since it absorbs poisons and other toxins from the digestive tract, such as alkaloids, glycosides, barbiturates and other sleeping and narcotic agents, salts of heavy metals, toxins of bacterial, vegetal, and animal origin.
Indications: Activated Charcoal is used to detoxify the body in cases of endogenous poisoning (from inside the body) and exogenous poisoning (from outside the body) nausea, gas in the digestive system, food poisoning, dysentery, acid reflux, kidney failure, surface skin infections, bronchial asthma, inflammation of the stomach, intestines and gallbladder, overdoses of medications, allergic sicknesses and alcohol withdrawal syndrome. Patients may use Carbolong to decrease the quantity of intestinal gas for prepare for Roentgen and endoscopic examination.
Recommended dosage: For internal use: Take 250 to 750 milligrams 3 to 4 times daily before or after meals and with other medical agents. Normal course of treatment runs 14 days.
Contraindications and cautions: Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity, stomach and upper small intestines ulcers, nonspecific ulcerous colitis, bleeding from digestive tract.
