Drug name: Salofalk
Active Ingredients:
- Mesalazine
Indications: The drug is indicated in treatment of Ulcerative colitis
Contraindications and cautions: The drug should be used with caution in:
- Kidney or liver impairment
- Asthma
- Phenylketonuria
The drug are forbidden to use in the following conditions:
- Known allergic reaction to salicylates
- Peptic Ulcer
- Severe kidney or liver dysfunction
- Young age under 6 years(12 years for some forms of the preparation)
- Blood clotting disorders
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Salofalk will experience it or any other. The side-effects include:
- Stomach pain
- Diarrhea and vomiting
- Nausea

- Decreased number of blood cells
- Worsening of colitis symptoms
