Drug name: Smecta
Therapeutic actions: SMECTA is a non-systemic gastrointestinal tract mucous-protective drug which interacts with mucous molecules, it strengthens the mucous barrier and protects the surface of enterocytes , fights against bacteria and toxin which present within the lumen. Smecta has a specific binding action for rotavirus, one of the main causes of diarrhea in children.
Indications: Smecta is used to treat:
- the cute and chronic diarrhea, especially in children.
- heartburn, inflation and discomfort in the stomach caused by gastritis, stomach and duodenum ulcer , colitis.
Contraindications and cautions:
You should not use this medication if:
- you have intestinal occlusion
- you have an allergy to diosmectite
