Milgamma N

Drug name: Milgamma N

Active Ingredients:

  • Benfothiamine,
  • cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12),
  • pyridoxine (vitamin B6)

Therapeutic actions: Benfothiamine and combination of pyridoxine and cyanocobalamin play an important role in neural cells metabolism. Due to its solubility in fats Benfotiamine(derivate of thiamine) is better absorbed, better available and better exploited than natural vitamin B1(thiamine).

Milgamma restores the conductibility of the nerve impulses through the neuromotor and vegetative nerve fibers. Milgamma N also possesses the direct anti-neuralgic effects due to normalizing influence on mediators (analgesic action)

Indications: Milgamma N is used to treat:

  • Diseases of various origin that affect especially peripheral neural system
  • Neuritides
  • Neuralgias
  • Polyneropathy, (diabetic, alcoholic, etc.),
  • Myalgias
  • Radical syndromes
  • Retrobulbar neuritis
  • Herpes zoster
  • Paresis of facial nerve
  • Injury of trigeminic nerve.

Contraindications and cautions: Milgamma N should not be used in:

  • Hypersensitivity or allrgy to any of Milgamma active ingredients
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding
  • In neonates

For injections(vials) also: severe heart failure, thrombosis(clottage), thrombembolia, erythremia, high red cell count(erytrocytosis)

Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Milgamma will experience it or any other.

In some cases allergic reactions(skin rash, hives, Quenk'es edema, anaphylactic shock) can occur. In parenteral infusion vegetative and cardiovascular reactions(sweatiness, increased heart rate, abnormal heart bear, dizzoness, vomiting), skin reactions in the form of acne and seizures are observed in some patients.

Sulphate solutions disturb the structure of thiamine making it non efficient.

Levodopa lowers the therapeutic effect of Vitamin B6.

Milgamma may also interact with cycloserin, D-penicillamin, epinephrine, norepinephrine, sulfonamids, that reduce the effect of Vitamin B6.

Benfothiamine is not compatible with oxidating substances, mercuric chloride, iodide, carbonates, acetates, tannin acid, iron-ammonium citrates, phenobarbital, riboflavine(vit. B2), benzylpenicillin, dextrose, metabisulfite.

Vitamin B12 should not be used in combination with vitamin C(acid ascorbic), salts of heavy metals, riboflavin(vitamin B2), aminoglycosides, NSAID's , chloramphenicole.
