Therapeutic actions: Nicotinic acid is a vitamin and hypolipidemic preparation. In the organism the acid transforms in nicotinamid, that binds to co-enzymes codehydroginasa I and II that transports hydrogen and is used in the lipid, protein, amino acid and purine metabolism, tissue respiration , glycogenolysis and other processes. Replenishes deficiency of vitamin PP or vitamin B3, also exerts specific anti-pellagra effects. Normalizes the concentration of lipoproteins in the blood. Exerts vasodilation effects on the level of peripheral vessels, improves microcirculation and exerts light anticoagulant effect.
Indications: The drug is used in the following conditions:
- Avitaminosis PP
- Ischemic dysfunctions of cerebral blood flow
- Obliterating diseases of the peripheral vessels
- Neuritis of the facial nerve
- Vessel spasms in the extremities, gall duct and urine duct.
Contraindications and cautions: The drug should not be used in the following conditions:
- Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation
- Expressed arterial hypertension
- Atherosclerosis
- Podagra
- Hyperurikemia
- Young age
Should be used with caution:
- Hemorrhage
- Glaucoma
- Renal insufficiency
- Arterial hypotension
- Hyperacidic gastritis
- Ulcerous disease of the gastro-intestinal tract
