Femizol
Drug name: Femizol
Active Ingredients:
- Mepyramine,
- Pamabrom,
- Paracetamol(acetaminophen)
Therapeutic actions: Therapeutic action of Femizol is associated with the effects if its three active ingredients:
Paracetamol(acetaminophen) belongs to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAID's for short. Acetaminophen works by blocking the production of the inflammatory mediators called prostoglandins in the central nervous system(CNS). As a result, Acetaminophen reduces fever and relives pain.
Another active ingredient Mepyramine belongs to H1 histamine receptor blockers. By blocking H1-histamine receptors Mepyramine eliminates the symptoms related to allergy.
Pamabrom the third active ingredient of Femizol belongs to a group of medications called water pills.
Pamabrom works by disturbing the reabsorption of sodium and chloride ions in proximal and distal nephron. It increases renal blood flow and glomerular filtration.
Femizol relieves the symptoms related to premenstrual syndrome(PMS): abdominal distension, increase body weight, headache and backache.
Indications: Femizol used in symptomatic treatment of premenstrual syndrome(PMS).
Contraindications and cautions: You should not use Femizol in any of the following conditions:
- Increased sensitivity to any of the medication active ingredients
- Severe liver and kidney failure
- In children under 15 years of age
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
Warning!
If the pain persists more than 10 days immediately talk with your doctor. Femizol should not be used without talking with your doctor in respiratory system diseases or glaucoma. Also avoid alcohol drinking while taking this preparation.
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Femizol will experience it or any other.
The most common effects include dizziness and drowsiness. In rare cases- allergic reactions(skin rash,hives, Quenke'e edema). In prolonged use and high dosages- hepatotoxicity.

Interactions between femizol and other medications are not established. However,you should pay attention to NSAID's, hepatotoxic and antihistamine preparations, drugs used to treat hypertension including water pills(diuretics).
