Drug name: Progestogel
Therapeutic actions: Progestogel contains the active ingredient progesterone. Progesterone is a hormone of a yellow body. Due to activating DNA in the cells, progesterone stimulates the synthesis of RNA. Progesterone activates the growth of secretory part of acinuses and induces lactation(milk-ejecting activity). Progestogel blocks the permeability of the capillaries in the tissue of mammary gland and also lowers the edema of connective-tissue stroma. Miotic activity of the ducts' epithelium is reduced as well.

Indications:
Progestogel is used in the treatment of the following conditions:

• Mastodynia(associated with oral birth control pills application, pregnancy, puberty, premenopausa, syndrom of premenstrual tension, mastopathy)
• Mastopathy

Contraindications and cautions:

• Progestogel should not be applied in known hypersensitivity to Progestogel.
• Talk with your health care provider prior applying Progestogel if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
