Active Ingredients:
- Tamoxifen
Therapeutic actions: Zitazonium contains the active ingredient tamoxifen that belongs to a part of preparations called selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs). Tamoxifen exerts both estrogenic and anti-estrogenic effects. Tamoxifen exerts estrogenic action on the skeletal tissue and anti-estrogenic action on the breast. Mechanism of anti-estrogenic action is associated with competitive binding with estrogen receptors in target prgans and prevents their interaction with endogenic ligand 17-b-estradiol. Tamoxifen retards the progression of neoplastic process stimulated by estrogens.
Indications: Tamoxifen is approved to treat the following conditions:
- Cancer of the mammary gland in women in post-menopausal period
- Endometrial cancer
- Anovulatory sterility
- Cancer of the prostate gland in resistance to other medication
- Melanoma that contains estrogenic receptors
Contraindications and cautions: You should not use Tamoxifen if any of these conditions apply to you:
- Known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the medication ingredients
- Unexplained vaginal bleeding
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
Let your doctor know if you have
- a history of blood clots or stroke
- high calcium blood levels
- non-cancerous uterine or ovarian problems
- cataracts
Regularly control blood pressure while the treatment with Tamoxifen

- Digestive system: anorexia, nausea, vomiting
- CNS: depression, dizziness, tiredness
- Vision organs: cataract and retinopathy
- Hematopoietic system: leukopenia, thrombocytopenia
- Allergic reactions: exanthem
- Other: fever, moderate metrorrhagia, thromboembolia, thrombophlebitis, edema, high calcium blood levels, pain in bones

- Hyperprolactinemia(Bromocriptine)
- Anticonvulsants
- Chemotherapy medications
- Oral birth control pills
- Blood thinners(Warfarin)
- Antibiotics(rifabutin, rifampin , rifapentine)
