Active Ingredients: clomiphene citrateThe commercial name of the medication may differ from the brand one. Generic Clomid manufactured by Maneesh pharmaceutical is available under commercial name Siphene.
Therapeutic actions:
Clomid contains the active ingredient clomiphene citrate which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-estrogen preparations. Action mechanism of the medication is associated with specific binding to estrogen receptors of the ovaries and pituitary gland. In low blood levels Clomid exerts estrogen effect, in high amounts exerts anti-estrogen action. Low doses of Clomid enhance the secretion of gonadotropic hormones (prolactin, FSH, LH). Clomiphene does not exert gestagen and androgen activity.Indications: Generic Clomid is approved for the treatment of the following conditions:
- Anovular sterility
- Primary and secondary amenorrhea
- Post contraceptive amenorrhea
- Syndrome stein-leventhal
- Oligomenorrhea
- Galactorrhea
- Chiari's syndrome
- Androgen insufficiency
- In men: oligospermia
Contraindications and cautions:
Clomiphene should not be taken in the following conditions:- Liver or kidney insufficiency
- Cystic ovary
- Tumor of the pituitary gland
- Dysfunction of the thyroid gland
- Dysfunction of the adrenal gland
- Metrorrhagia of unknown origin
- Vision problems
- Malignant tumors
- Endomethriosis
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Galactose intolerance, lactose insufficiency and glucose malabsorption
- Hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredients
Adverse effects: There are possible side effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. - Digestive system: nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, meteorism, diarrhea, upset stomach, increased appetite.

- Metabolism: weigh loss or weight gain
- Allergic reactions: skin rash, hives, allergic dermatitis
